Our banner advertising system was designed to be simple and fair to all while keeping costs down for the advertiser and maintaining a website that does not become a cluttered mish-mash of ads throughout the site. This keeps visitors less confused with navigation and maintains the power of your advertisement.

Most of our banner ad spaces are over-sized from the standard sizes found in the website industry. We also use a system of both rotating and alternating banners, depending upon location of the banner.

Rotating banners remain showing on the website at all times, simply changing their relative position.

Alternating banners share the ad space with other advertisers. Through unique coding, up to seven banners share one ad space and randomly appear as the website page is accessed, or refreshed. For banner space that is shared by a full seven advertisers, these banner ads appear on an average of once every seven times, which is the maximum number of advertisers to a space. If there are fewer than seven advertisers to a space, your banner will, of course, appear more frequently.

Currently, all ad spaces have not reached maximum capacity, but this will change as our website becomes more popular. Should you see a gray “Your Ad Here” banner appear, then that space is completely unused, meaning your ad will appear every time until another advertiser shares that space. You may also contact us if you are uncertain of availability of a space for which you have an interest.

All advertising and associated images must be approved before your ad will appear.

Because we are a new website and making a footprint on the Internet takes time, we are offering new advertisers extremely low rates for a year of advertising. New advertisers who are willing to take a chance with us will be rewarded with an option of renewing for an additional year at the same rate – no matter how popular we may become and the increase in visitor traffic we may receive.

New advertisers must have made a payment for an ad space by September 30th, 2010. The option for a second year of ad space must also be made by this date to lock in these prices. After this date, we will look at our traffic and likely adjust our advertising prices higher.

Our prices are based on banner location, size, appearance frequency and other factors explained below.

Website Display

HEADER AREA, RIGHT SIDEBAR, FOOTER: These areas are displayed on every page accessed on our site.

Note: Banner ads #2 do NOT share banner space, they only alternate position in the 6 boxes provided.

All other banners (#1, #3, #4, #5-#19, #25) share space with other advertisers and will appear randomly.

LEFT SIDEBAR: This area appears when the website is first arrived at, or anytime a visitor uses the “HOME” tab.  This area does not display when a visitor goes to an article page, or other area of the website.

Banner spaces #20-#24 are shared by other advertisers. Sizing and prices for all spaces can be found under the heading of “Sizes and Pricing”, located below.

VISITOR TRAFFIC

Visitors arrive to our website through natural search returns from queries made on search engines, limited direct mailings through the USPS, paper media advertising, and from our sister site, PoconoBay.com.

Articles Pages

Article Header & Article Footer: Anytime a visitor accesses an article two additional ad spaces appear (#26 & #27).

These spaces are shared with other advertisers and ads will appear randomly.

All Ads Get Seen!

As you can see, this website maintains a clean uncluttered appearance which keeps our visitors engaged in the website, and accessing multiple articles without getting “lost” in a quaqmire of clutter. This means your ad will be seen as new pages are accessed, or the visitor returns to the Home page to search for a particular subject.

We think it is a great solution to a difficult problem of creating space and allowing advertisers more options for choosing an ad space location that fits their budget requirements.

About Banners & Links

You can provide us with the html code to insert for your banner image and link, or we can create a simple banner for you at no charge. We do not create animated .GIF banners and we actually prefer not to have them. We have been doing websites a long time. Trust us. A page full of blinking, shouting, loud, image changing banners is a distraction and annoying to visitors.

Though we won’t refuse placing them, be aware that Animated GIF banners are charged a premium of 25% more than non-animated banners.

WEB PAGE DEVELOPMENT FOR YOUR BUSINESS

Discounts

There will be a 5% discount if you have a website and display a linked banner from Pocono Pond on your own landing page. Our banner will be no smaller than 88×33 pixels in size. A 10% discount will be given for displaying our banner in a size of 125×125 pixels. Please inform us of your intention to place our banner on your website, your website address, and we will provide you with our banner code. Your discount will be returned upon verification of banner placement.
NOTE: Removing our banner from your website, reducing the displayed image size or removing the active link will break the contract and you will forfeit the visual display of your advertising during the duration of the offence, as we reserve the right to remove your advertisement from our website without compensation until the difference of the 5%, or 10% discount is paid and your account is brought up to date.

Payments are accepted through Paypal only. Please contact us at administrator@poconopond.com, providing your name, phone, and ad position desired if you have any questions. We will contact you within two business days regarding availability and payment details.

A QUICK NOTE ABOUT THE PAYPAL ORDER FORM

The Paypal order form uses our website, Pocono Bay, as the business name. This is will not misdirect your ad placement, as the ad space purchased will indicate the correct website. Simply check the item listed on your Paypal order form to ensure the correct website is indicated. Business links and web page orders will all indicate “Yabexe” as the receiver of your payment, but will be placed on this Pocono Pond website.

Terms and agreement:

Your business, or your website (if you have one) must be an entity serving the counties of Carbon, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Northampton, Pike, Susquahanna, Wayne,  or Wyoming,  in the state of Pennsylvania, whether through a physical presence, or by mail order.

Any links that are installed to your ad shall not be redirected to any website, other than the website originally intended and the destination links will not install, transfer, or otherwise transmit malicious, harmful, or otherwise disguised data that may be harmful, hurtful, or deceiptful to a visitor entering your website.
Should you provide us an image for purposes of displaying that image for your banner, such images will not be of pornographic or hateful in nature. All images must be approved by Pocono Pond and the “img src” file will be kept on the Internet servers of Pocono Pond for use in the coding to be displayed on our website.
Payment for a full year must be made in advance of your advertisement being displayed.
Rates are subject to change after 9/30/10 (this does not apply to advertisers who buy before 9/30/10)  and no contract shall be longer than a period of 1 year. Advertisers will have the right to renew a new contract before the ad space is resold.

Your payment will be acknowedgment that you have read and understood the terms of the agreement.
